Shoulderless Abutments allow for customizing the position of the closure and they are often preferred because of the freedom to easily vary the closure, even after the temporary phase, in case soft tissues do not show the expected reaction.
BOPT technique (or “knife edge” preparation) offers some advantages if compared to horizontal or champfer preparations because it allows for unconditional modulation of the finish line and the soft tissues, leading to predictable esthetic and periodontal health results.
